This is my amateur radio blog. I have had my license for almost 35 years and currently hold an Amateur Extra class license. I have operated VHF/UHF weak signal, satellite (Phase 3 series birds), HF DXing, HF CW both "normal" and QRP, and have done extensive building. I have also done some digital stuff - first with 2m packet back in the '80's, and then later with some of the soundcard modes on HF.
Right now, I am limited to what I can do because I live in an apartment and cannot install any decent HF antennas. I do have access to the attic and I am on the top floor of the 2-story apartment building and I have installed a couple of antennas up there for 2m and 70cm FM. Right now, all of my work is on VHF/UHF FM, but I hope to have some rudimentary HF capability by mid year. I will probably wind up working sound card modes on HF given the compromise antennas that I will have to use.
I am also involved in the Cape Girardeau County ARES (I am an Assistant Emergency Coordinator).
